English Heritage Fig and Plum Relish

Leisurely breakfasts with hot buttered toast and chunky marmalade, a pint of ale accompanied by a plate of farmhouse cheese and a spoonful of spicey chutney, warm scones and home made jam on a summers afternoon - images that bring to mind times of well earned rest and comfort.

Rich and luscious - this relish is a perfect complement to full flavoured cheeses and cold meats. We experimented by adding a spoonful of Fig and Plum Relish to a Lamb Tagine towards the end of the cooking time, and it was a marriage made in heaven!
