Excalibur (meaning to 'cut steel') was the great sword of King Arthur which 'gave light like 30 torches'. In the Arthurian stories, the name is given to two different swords - the one that the young king pulled from the anvil set in the stone before the church, and so proved his right to the kingship; and the other which the king took from the arm that rose above the surface of the lake, 'clothed in white samite, mystic, wonderful' and which eventually received back the sword when Arthur was dying. Our Excalibur Letter Opener in Stone is inspired by this age old legend. It has an antiqued brass hilt and a shiny stainless steel blade that will make light work of all but the toughest of envelopes. The hand painted resin stone features a metal plaque bearing the name "Camelot".
