Overview

This Tudor Red and Gold Tapestry Cushion is a sumptuous, Jacquard woven chenille cushion cover backed with a high quality velvet and fitted with a concealed zip. The textiles of Tudor England have inspired this vibrant cushion. Magnificent pomp and display marked Henry VIII day. The royal meeting at the Field of the 'Cloth of Gold' was characteristic of the splendour of the period. This was also the time of Italian satins and silks with the marvellous colours -crimson, masareene blue, dove coloured fabric embellished with orange, tawn and russets. Some of the favoured embroidery stitches of these times included cross-stitch, two sided Italian cross-stitch, brick and encroached gobelin.
