The first monastery of the immense Whitby Abbey was founded in 657 AD. The second monastery lasted until it was destroyed by Henry VIII in 1540. Though the abbey fell into ruin, it remained a prominent landmark for sailors and helped inspire Bram Stoker's Dracula. This gorgeous pen is the perfect gift for a historian, or someone who is always writing tales and storys.
