THE BAG

Established in Hackney in 2019, Kind Bag are on a mission to create stylish accessories that not only look good, but do good. They take used plastic bottles and turn them into beautiful reusable, recyclable bags to prevent them ending up in landfill and our oceans, and they donate 1% of all their sales through 1% For the Planet.

This exclusive design is inspired by artefacts and architecture in our care, including a Roman helmet and a Stonehenge trilithon.

RECYCLED PLASTIC

The bag’s strong, practical fabric is made from 100% recycled polyethylene terephthalate (PET), which has far less environmental impact than other materials. For instance, cotton tote bags need 7,000 to 20,000 reuses to have the same cumulative environmental impact (such as energy and water consumption) as a classic plastic bag, but recycled PET only needs 2-3 reuses. So far, Kind Bag has rescued and recycled over 5 million plastic bottles.

ETHICAL MANUFACTURING

Kind Bag’s suppliers and manufacturers work with ethical trade organisations to make sure they follow local and international regulations. All their workers are paid more than the local minimum wage and are on permanent payroll. They only work with suppliers that treat their employees fairly, and their warehouses are completely plastic free and carbon neutral.
